Lincoln University Technical College

Posted by Jamesy

We have recently completed the identity project for the first University Technical College in Lincolnshire, Lincoln University Technical College, or Lincoln UTC for short. The college itself has been developed in partnership with the University of Lincoln, Lincoln College and Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery Ltd. We won the project after a series of presentations, and it consisted of developing a symbol, supporting typographic standards and brand guidelines.

The symbol, an abstract acronym of the letters UTC, was developed in 3D software and re-coloured in the far ends of the possible printing colour gamut to achieve its bright aesthetic.

Kinetica Exhibition

Posted by Jim

This week we have been exhibiting with the University of Lincoln at Kinetica. The exhibition space is based in Kensington University. Jim set up on Tuesday and enjoyed a great press day and vip event on Wednesday. The stand (below) showcased 3 interactive experiments based around the theme of infection. The ‘Sneeze’, ‘Rash’ and ‘Tickley Cough’ were projects from third year interactive design students Savi Dobson and Josh Parry. Care home app

Posted by Wayne

We are just about to start work on a new project with with Lincolnshire County Council and a small group of young children. Together we are developing a responsive app for children in care. The first workshop was really successful considering they do not pull any punches when it comes to talking about design, and they all have some great ideas to bring to the table.

We cant wait to create some really useful tools that will support the children going into care. Here is a sneak peak so far.

Who is the new Marilyn?

Posted by Wayne

We have been commissioned by New York film maker Nikhil Melnechuk to create a competition website for people to vote for their favourite Marilyn Monroe. The winner could take the leading role in this feature film in development and be the face for all the promotional events and red carpet premiers.

The site leads on from a social networking campaign spanning across Facebook, Youtube and Instagram to filter a selection of finalists. Fans votes are collected using the Facebook graph api and it seems there is already a front runner, loukia-l with 2101 votes.

Im really impressed by the candidates, each spending the time to create and add their own videos, my personal favourite memory-monroe.

Check out the site and add your vote!

“Viewnited” win the league!

Posted by Mike

Viewnited have steam-rollered the 6-aside league with and goal difference that’s surely record breaking! Congratulations to all the boys involved. We are moving on to a different league from next week that’s hopefully a bit more of a challenge. Scoring 10+ goals most weeks was getting a bit tedious. Good luck next season! Try and get that knee over the ball Wayno and you might score a few more.

True to form Kerry did not have a conventional wedding and after some promises that it was not a prank, Jim, Mike and Myself found ourselves in fancy dress costumes! Thanks for a great night, we will catch up with after your honeymoon and crack on with the 3D Printshow London, Paris and New York.

“New Look” A14 Printfinishing

Posted by Mike

We have recently completed a complete overhaul of A14′s website. With javascript being much more versatile than it used to be, we have retained transitions and functionality of their previous flash site, but enabled the site to be viewed on tablets and smartphones. Expect plenty of updates from the guys at A14 as they expand their portfolio wall.

Say hello to Stan

Posted by Wayne

Jamesy has just introduced Studio View to its newest member of the team, Stan the miniature Dachshund 8 weeks old. Luckily Jim is away from the studio otherwise I think he would have a mental break down, that’s if he noticed him.
