This is 10 week old Charlie who will be joining the team as from today. As you can she has made herself right at home and is a snorer!

Last night we had a play with the extremely flexible Phidgets kits which basicly consist of USB plug and play circuit boards, sensors and motors and hooked it up to…you guessed it Flash. Although more expensive than Arduino, they are far neater and come with a comprehensive AS3 library.
In a few hours minus pizza and beers, Chris and myself had Flash working with all kinds of sensors and interacting with animated movie clips. Only basic stuff so far but it looks like our next session will involve projectors and rotating mirrors! As usual when we have more we will post what we know.
Rising to some studio banter and feeling confident I set a challenge, normally the wager would be for a round of tea’s. Today bravado got the better of me so I upped the anti – person with the slowest lap time in GTI has to wear the green screen leotard to be photographed and blogged. Guess who lost!!
A beautiful publication has just been delivered. The Lincoln Story tells the history of Lincoln, it’s heritage and the development of the university. Printed on a Munken Lynx throughout, the foil blocked front and back gate folded covers show two maps of Lincoln. Internal pages fold out to provide a canvas for panoramic imagery, celebrating the magnificent architecture the city has to offer, we’re all chuffed to bits with it!
Last week we launched the Raising Aspirations site for the “Raising Aspirations Convention 2011″ Delegates and Schools can register their interest whilst students can tweet their interest to #ra11 and see who else is going. I will be posting the As3 Twitter code soon.
Just a quick thank you to Kerry Hogarth from Computers Unlimited for our i360 stand and Mac Book docking station. We have just completed their press site which was launched with the CU Explode exhibition which was packed with new products, including everything for the iPad 2 and iPhone 4. Im glad she gave our pressie’s after the deadline as Racing GTI has turned into a bit of a distraction!
Cheers Kerry
Its that time of year again for the Shure Songwriting Award competition by Shure and the Institute. Last year we got 17778 email addresses with some song writers getting over 3500 votes each!
The lucky winner gets a unique opportunity to professionally develop their talent and skills, including performing in live showcase events in London, and get a free place on the Institute’s fantastic one-year Professional Diploma in Songwriting course.
This year it is being judged by Everything Everthing , I cant wait to see the entries this year!
